Amanda attended Colorado State University and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in English Education, with her Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning from Colorado State University Global. She taught American Sign Language I & II and Language Arts in Greeley, CO at University Schools before moving to San Diego, CA. She has interpreted since 2001, receiving her EIPA certification in 2005 and her National Interpreting Certification (NIC) in 2012. Amanda has interpreted in a myriad of settings; her experience in education ranges from kindergarten classrooms to university-level coursework. She also has extensive experience in medical interpreting, video relay interpreting, and conference interpreting. Amanda strives to educate others on how to better serve our Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing consumers through workshops geared to facilitate lasting partnerships. She currently teaches sign language at her college alma mater and interprets as an independent contractor.
